It is on an older Murray 42" cut and I suspect it is not getting an even flow of gasoline,or maybe oil slipping past the piston rings and fouling the plug. What say you? How much is a replacement engine in today's prices?

Check your air filter and clean the spark plug. Or you could have carb problems. Take the fuel bowl off the carb and wipe it out real good. You might have to disassemble the entire carb and soak any plastic parts in 'Son of a Gun' and soak any metal parts
